An Endowed Scholarship creates a permanent legacy for Kanakuk Kampers. An endowment leaves the principal donation intact, with a portion of the earnings reinvested into the principal and a larger percentage (4% to 5%) allocated for the scholarship recipient. This enables the scholarship principal to grow every year, thus providing an ever increasing stream of revenue to a deserving young man or young woman to experience Kamp. It also provides an excellent opportunity for your family's investment to leave a permanent and enduring legacy at Kanakuk with a naming opportunity. Through the establishment of Endowed Scholarships, generations of Kanakuk Kampers will be afforded the opportunity to experience Christ through their Kamp experience.

You may fund your endowed Kanakuk scholarship over a period of five years with an initial gift of $5,000 with the understanding that it will not become a named endowment until the balance reaches $25,000

Funding Your Endowed Scholarship

  • Endowed Scholarships may be funded with a tax deductible, charitable contribution of cash or appreciated securities, gift annuities, life insurance or real estate.
  • Matching Gift Programs are a great way to increase giving to Endowed Scholarships. Please use our matching tool to find out if your company offers a matching gift program that can double and sometimes triple your donation.
  • An endowed scholarship may be established through your estate plans.

Endowed scholarship will offer your family an opportunity to leave a permanent enduring legacy at Kanakuk or establish gifts in memory of or in honor of a loved one or special mentor, counselor, or friend.

When the endowment reaches $100,000, Kanakuk will recognize the named scholarship with a bronze plaque that will be displayed on our Kanakuk Kamps Wall of Honor. A matching plaque will be presented to you or the Honoree in appreciation for your invaluable support. All endowed scholarships will be recognized annually through our year end annual report.
