Behind every successful operation, there are the people who work behind the scenes to make it happen. At Kanakuk, those people are our Kamp Staff! Before a single Kamper arrives to laugh, learn and blob the summer away, over 2,000 college staff members travel to Branson, MO, ten days early to prep Kamp for the best summer ever.
Our staff works heartily to make sure that everything is perfect when the Kamp gates open for the summer. But in true Kanakuk style, they have FUN while doing it! The friendships that begin during staff training week grow deeper throughout the summer and last a lifetime!
We use staff training week is to ensure that our staff gets a taste of what it’s like to be a Kamper, in order to better serve our Kampers when they arrive. Staff members spend the week doing hands-on training to execute the most fun experiences in every area of Kamp. In addition, our staff spends hours learning and training in the importance of safety to ensure that every Kamper is able to have the maximum amount of fun while trying new experiences at Kamp! Staff training week is also filled to the brim with Biblical teachings that encourage community and a family-style work culture, both of which support the true heartbeat of Kanakuk.
By the time the Kamp gates open and Kampers arrive, our team is ready and FUAGNEM (Fired Up And Going Nuts Every Minute) to take on another incredible summer serving kids and sharing Jesus the best way possible – by being living examples!
