Last Day of Kamp 2017

It’s hard to believe that Summer 2017 has come to an end! We are so grateful for all that the Lord has done at Kamp this year.

From the time our gates opened in June until the very last Kamper left today, God has been present and working. Every summer, it’s an honor to witness and be part of the endless smiles, laughter and countless hearts on fire for Jesus! So many sweet memories have been made, all amidst this summer’s “I’m Third” theme, a principle that has been a foundation of Kanakuk for generations.

Year after year, we encourage everyone at Kanakuk to live out “I’m Third”, where we place God first, others second and ourselves third. It has been a joy this summer to watch Kampers embrace I’m Third in everything they did- from KLIFE to the zip-line. We have seen Kampers of all ages embody the spirit of Christ by thinking of others before themselves. As a result, we have seen friendships created and a boost in confidence as we honored Jesus’ greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39) Our hope is that every Kamper not only leaves Kamp this summer knowing how to love God and others well, but also know how loved THEY are by their Heavenly Father.

We are incredibly grateful for our staff members, as they constantly encouraged and lifted up our Kampers in a way that reminds them how precious they are as children of God. No matter the age or background, everyone found a new confidence and friendship at Kamp this summer and we are praising God for what he has done.

As we gear up to head back to school and prepare for Summer 2018, we are praying for a continual boost in confidence and for more friendships to be strengthened across the Kanakuk community!
