The morning starts like most mornings here at kamp, the kitichies and maintenance up early getting ready for the day.
For our third K-life talk, our director Shay Robbins spoke on the weight of our sin and the ability we have through salvation to not carry that weight, but to live in freedom. Shay showed us an example where he had heavy weights on his back and could not carry them on his own. They were weighing him down, but he was able to show us that Jesus can take the weight of our sin. The scripture he focused on was Hebrews 12:1-2 which says, “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” We can throw off our weights and run toward Jesus. He carries that weight for us! Seeing the physical weight was such a great example and helped the Kampers understand their need for Jesus.
