As the gates to K-2 have closed, we are so thankful for the summer of 2016 and all that the Lord did here! We are sad that Kamp is officially over but we are already looking forward to the summer of 2017. We have been overjoyed by everything this summer and are so thankful for everyone who helped us make it the best summer yet! We laughed, we learned and we allowed God to do immeasurable more than we could ever imagine!
What’s better than a day filled with light sabers, Chewbacca and R2D2? Party Rokka With Chewbakka was a blast!
We started off the day with a little game that lasted all day long between the cabins. Cabin 20, our oldest 4-week cabin, started off with a red, or sith, light saber, and had to sneakily put it into another cabin without getting caught. The ultimate goal was to get rid of the light saber and the game lasted until the party started in the evening, with the loss of points to whoever ended up with the light saber.
As the evening started, every Kamper was in the church to enjoy a skit between Kylo Ren and Chewbacca. That led to the beginning of our picnic in the lower K-Dome.
Directly following dinner, Kampers were sent on a hunt to find Kylo and Chewbacca. They were hidden so well, and the winners received points for the rest of the night.
After the hunt was over, we had “Jedi Training” which split cabins up and allowed every Kamper to participate in an activity.
In the Girl’s Gym we had:
· Star Wars Trivia
· Light Saber Battle
· Name that Character
· Stare Wars- A staring competition
· Handstand walking competition
· Picture Stations
In the Party Barn, the activities were:
· Galaga- The arcade game
· Defeating Kylo Ren
· Search for the Millennium Falcon- Kampers searched for small figures of the Millennium Falcon in the barn swing ball pit
· Carpet Ball
· Rope Swing
The winners of all the activities, girls cabin and boys cabin, received a special treat at the end of the activities and then we had an awesome dance party in the K-Dome. We love Party Rokka with Chewbakka!
