Cross Talk 2017
One of our favorite and most special nights here at K-2 is called Cross Talk. We get to share stories and present a real life picture of the gospel as we reenact the crucifixion scene.
Yesterday, we had the best time celebrating the Fourth of July! We love the tradition and the opportunity to celebrate freedom for 241 years and what better place to celebrate than in the beautiful Ozarks at Kanakuk K-2?
In the morning, our Kampers were woken up to the sound of fireworks which led to an all day environment being decked out in red, white & blue. We had our normal classes the first half of the day and our extravaganza started right after lunch and F.O.B.
The celebration started with a parade made up of girls and boys All Around Specialty that then led to a ‘Sunday Funday’ type of celebration. The pool was open and we even had a birthday party for America in the Party Barn. To top it off, the floating dock had a special treat of soda on it.
For dinner, we had a picnic with burgers and brats to celebrate our country. After dinner, we had two-stepping, cotton candy, snow cones and a photoshoot with colorful smoke bombs. We ended the night with a firework finale up on our football field and on the way down to cabins Kampers got a Bomb Pop popsicle.
We are thankful for the tradition we are able to celebrate and more importantly, we are thankful for the freedom we have found in Jesus.
