Welcome to AIR-IT-OUT, the biggest flag-football tournament in the Ozarks. Every Wacky Wednesday afternoon, our Kuk (boy) Kampers are drafted onto a college football squad. With their counselor/coach as their Quarterback, the teams are given only a quick film session after draft day to strategize for one the best events of the summer. Each team plans out some fun trick plays, and of course, some wacky celebrations.
Teams then head down to the Lower Fields, where the excitement begins. There, they greet our always energetic announcers, Bob and Chad, who add plenty of entertainment as they attempt to broadcast play-by-play action of each game at once. Teams play three, up-tempo, fast-paced football games until a winner is crowned in each division.
That’s not all! We then have ourselves a little college football playoff.
The four division winners face off in semi-final action until we have a championship matchup. Each week two teams battle it out to see who will become the reigning champ on Kanakuk Hill. With all of their friends and counselors surrounding the field watching, the athletes spin, juke, and dice their way into the end zone for another 15 minutes until an Air-it-Out champ emerges.
A Gatorade shower ensues for the victors and every Kamper smiles wide as another fun-packed event concludes our Wacky Wednesday afternoon. Our Air-it-Out football tournament is another way we uplift our Kampers.
Every player is given a chance to excel and is encouraged no matter the final score.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” Hebrews 12:1
