K-West is foundationally based on outdoor activities in the sunshine. Whether at the lake, the pool, or the sports fields, we soak in a lot of Vitamin D and it is FUN! But, what happens when the skies open and the summer thunderstorms come? Does the fun stop? NO!
Here at K-West we have regular scheduled days, which consist of the classes that the kampers chose before coming to kamp, and irregular scheduled days, which consist of days like opening/closing day, kamp Sundays, and other unique days.
The Party on the Prairie is a K-West tradition! In western fashion, each summer there is a party that is western themed and consists of a lot of two-stepping and line dancing. This year, the fun has grown to make the party begin in the early afternoon.
Opening day is such a fun day as it is the beginning of a new term with new kampers and new opportunity for growth. Kampers arrive via car, bus, or plane to K-West ready for the best summer ever! We open the gates around 2PM, allowing the flood of cars to come in.
Summer is in full swing! Kampers have been here for over a week, which means that Term 1 is more than halfway done at K-West. The Lord has been and is moving in this place just as he has been faithful to do in the past.
Here at K-West, it is our mission to not only ensure that every kid who walks through our gates hears the gospel for themselves, but also to equip them to continue to study God’s word long after they have left Kamp behind.
