We did it! All five terms at K-West have come and gone. Summer 2016 has been put to rest at Kanakuk K-West.
K-Life nights are always a favorite at K-West! K-Life consists of crazy dancing, entertaining games, hilarious skits, and praise and worship, followed by a message. Each message has a different topic and is always backed up with scripture and stocked with practical examples. The programs team has created a skit that progresses over the course of our five K-Life events. Their characters, Slavy, Billy and B are magicians and always keep us entertained.
Our director, Ward Wiebe, delivered our first K-life message. Ward gave the Kampers an introduction into what our hope and prayer is for this summer. Our theme this summer is “Run Free” which comes from the verse in Psalm 119:32 which says “I shall run the way of Your commandments, For You will enlarge my heart.” Ward gave the Kampers a charge to live in freedom and not become weighed down by the world. He also referenced the passage in Hebrews 12:1-2 which says “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” We must remember the greatness of our God and cling to Him in times of hard and easy. Ward has done an incredible job all summer getting Kampers excited to learn God’s word.
We continue to be thankful for the work of the Lord that occurs here. May we never take it for granted. We love your kids!
