We did it! All five terms at K-West have come and gone. Summer 2016 has been put to rest at Kanakuk K-West.
Our second K-Life of the term occurs during the first week. Our assistant men’s director, Kevin Smith, delivers the message and draws the Kampers in with good imagery and scripture. Kevin speaks from Hebrews 12:1-2 which says “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Kevin comes onto the stage with a whole bunch of jackets on. He slowly takes each jacket off as he is talking about running free and not being slowed down by the weight of this world. We are called to take off everything that hinders us from running the race freely. Our hope and prayer for this summer continues to be that Kampers would understand the gospel and would then be convicted to live in obedience.
We cannot be more thankful for this summer and the impact we have seen time and time again. Thank you Jesus for K-West! What a great summer it has been!
