Q. Do I have to interview to be considered for a summer position?
A. Yes, every applicant must go through an interview with a Kanakuk staff member before February 1st.
Q. It won't let me create an online profile?
A. There is a good chance that you are already in our system. Please contact our Summer Staff Coordinator if you have problems. staff@kanakuk.com

A. All applications and interviews must be completed by February 1st.
Q. What kind of conduct is expected from a Kanakuk staff member?
A. Jesus Christ is glorified in everything we do! Therefore, we stand firm on His Word and His example. We are living examples of an exemplary way of life. Our staff positively encourage one another in both word and deed. We consistently love one another and build each other up in all that we do. Kanakuk is truly the most encouraging place on earth! Our staff does not condone or personally use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco of any kind. We also do not participate in pornography (any form), homosexuality, or pre-marital sex either on duty or off duty. Integrity, loyalty, and honesty are pillars that our staff stands on. We expect our staff to portray a Christ-like lifestyle both in and out of the kamp gates.
Q. What is the typical summer schedule?
A. Lengths of employment will vary from Kamp to Kamp, but most new staff members will typically work 4, 6, 8, or 10 weeks depending on availability. All new staff are also required to attend Staff Training at the end of May.
Q. How do I volunteer?
A. Each summer a portion of our staff volunteer their time to help fulfill the Kanakuk Mission. Money saved through these volunteers will help provide scholarships to underprivileged Kampers as well as various other ministries around the world.
Q. What about time-off and compensation?
A. Kamp is a full-time ministry in which you will have the opportunity to love, serve, encourage, and pour your life into kids at all hours of the day. Each staff member is expected to be at kamp at all times, but will be allotted time off depending on duration of employment. Most time off occurs in 24 hour segments. Any time off request for longer than 24 hours must be approved by a Director.
Q. What about compensation?
A. All of our staff positions are paid positions. Salary is dependent on your year in school and the number of years experience at kamp. Room and board are also provided. However, the real payoff of working at kamp cannot be measured in dollars!
Q. How do I get to and from Kamp?
A. All of our staff are responsible for their own transportation to and from Kamp. Many staff carpool together from different parts of the country. If you are flying, there are Kamp shuttle services available to and from the airport.
Q. What if I'm a Life Guard or a Boat Driver?
A. Kamp is always in need of staff who have experience in lifeguarding and/or boat driving. If you are an experienced lifeguard or boat driver, please let us know when you apply for a summer position.
