Throughout the summer, Kampers were challenged to pursue Christ daily while enjoying world-class activities, meaningful friendships, and unforgettable experiences in the Ozarks. The Summer 2021 Theme encouraged children and families to grow in faith and live with purpose.

Ever Higher is based on Philippians 3:13-14, where Paul encourages believers to live a life that glorifies God every day.
We can’t wait for our Kampers and staff to experience their Best Summer Ever as they enjoy the fun, thrills, and friendship of Kanakuk while surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Ozarks.

Why the Summer 2021 Theme Matters
The Summer 2021 Theme, Ever Higher, encouraged Kampers to focus on their relationship with Christ and strive toward spiritual growth each day. Inspired by Philippians 3:13-14, the theme reminded campers to look forward with faith and confidence.
Faith, Fun, and Friendship
Kanakuk combines exciting activities with intentional discipleship. The Summer 2021 Theme helped create a meaningful environment where campers could grow spiritually while enjoying the Best Summer Ever. The message of Ever Higher was woven throughout daily activities, evening programs, and cabin discussions.
Living the Ever Higher Theme at Camp
Throughout the summer, campers actively pursued spiritual growth while building strong friendships. In addition, they enjoyed exciting activities that challenged them to grow in confidence and character.
Philippians 3:13-14 inspired the Ever Higher theme and encouraged campers to keep moving forward in their faith. As a result, many campers developed a deeper understanding of God’s purpose for their lives.
Furthermore, staff members connected biblical lessons to everyday camp experiences. For example, campers learned how perseverance, teamwork, and faith can strengthen their relationship with Christ.
Meanwhile, sports, outdoor adventures, and special events created unforgettable memories. Because campers put these lessons into practice each day, they experienced meaningful personal growth.
Finally, families saw the impact of the summer long after camp ended. Therefore, the message of Ever Higher continued to influence campers at home, at school, and in their communities.
