Check your child for head lice 10-14 days before the Kamp session begins. Watch this video to see a demonstration on how to properly conduct a head check. If your child is treated for head lice or has been exposed to head lice within the past month, email our Director of Health Services at healthservices@kanakuk.com.
During our opening day head check, if any evidence of lice (nits or live bugs) is present we will immediately provide treatment using heat and a non-toxic solution that is guaranteed to kill lice and nits. A fee of $150 will be charged to your Kamper’s account. Parents will be notified in a timely manner, but in some situations this notification may occur after treatment has been completed.
In order to avoid having your child miss out on any Kamp activities while being treated for head lice, please take the time to carefully check your child’s hair or have their hair checked by a professional prior to arriving at Kamp!
